TriCIS and DASA join forces to trial Geofencing software with Defence Digital

In 2019, we partnered with American software company, Booz Allen Hamilton to deliver their Geofencing software, District Defend® to the UK defence market. Two years on, we are delighted to share the news that our Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) supported proof of concept project for Defence Digital has been delivered successfully with the team involved recognising the need to integrate this technology with MOD systems for further testing.

In an increasingly digital world, the demand for a more flexible workforce is growing; with more and more people choosing to work remotely. Although the benefits of a mobile workforce are well documented, it also presents many security risks. A key challenge faced by both industry and government employers is to find a way to facilitate a mobile workforce whilst maintaining control over security threats.

District Defend® is an advanced endpoint security system which automatically reconfigures security permissions based on the location of the device. It uses contextual triggers such as location and user behaviours to automatically adjust mobile devices, such as laptops and tablets to the appropriate security settings. This project allowed us gather more intelligence around how this technology may support the security, independence and interests of the MOD.

Our CEO, Antony Summerfield says, “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) team and Defence Digital on this innovation venture to deliver Geofencing software into the MOD. The support from both to trial and make this an outstanding and approved product was first class. For true secure mobility and for remote homeworking environments that are traditionally difficult to achieve for Government and MoD workers this approved solution solves those problems.
